Head of Design at Jeddah International College Shares Personal Brand Tips on IFSpeaks Stage

Dr Karima Hemida, Professor of Visual Communication and the Head of the Design Department at Jeddah International College, delivered a session on ‘Crafting a Winning Personal Brand,’ lasering in on the next generation of design professionals.

While highlighting the edge young designers of today have on previous generations with access to AI-powered tools to help create their brand, she cautioned young brand builders cannot lose sight of the need to read, learn, absorb and follow trends.

“Everyone is a brand. So it is important you define your brand and express your unique proposition. It is not just about showing your work. Building a brand is not just about a logo, it is about storytelling and creating an identity that distinguishes you from others,” Dr Hemida told an engaged audience in the first-ever session on the IFSpeaks stage.

“You have to create a vision, but you need to establish your long-term goals and you have to have a mission. It is also important that you read what’s happening in the industry - it’s not all just on social media, and you must also follow trends.”

“Attending industry events like IFS Jeddah provides a platform to network, build connections, and stay informed on the latest advancements in the field.”
